Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

The basis of our faith is the resurrection of Christ from the dead.
John 2:18-22 So the Jews said to him, "What sign do you show us for doing these things?" 19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." 20 The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?" 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Faith is how we live the abundant life. We overcome fear by faith in God (John 14:1). We gain victory over the world by faith in God (1 John 5:4). We grow in faith by learning and living the word of God (Romans 10:17; 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7; 2 Thessalonians 1:3). Faith is how we gain eternal life. Saving faith is not mere intellectual assent like the demons have (James 2:19), but a belief that moves a person to obey the Word of God (Romans 1:5, James 2:14,17,26).
In order for us to live the Christian life, we must live by faith in the Son of God. We live by faith when we attempt to be and do what the Bible teaches expecting God to fulfill our attempt by His power. Faith is how we access and use all the resources that the Lord has given us.
