Genesis 3:20 The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. 21 And the
LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them. 22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-" 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. 24 He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.
Verse 20 states very clearly that all humans are descended from Eve. There is only one race of people. Racism is sin. The rich genetic pool God created in Adam and Eve gives us a variety of people, but we are all one race (see answersingenesis.org for more complete information).
Verse 21 teaches us the love and care God had for His people. Even after they sinned, He made provision for their well-being. He provided Adam and Eve garments made from the animal skins. As we look forward in the Scriptures we see animal garments God provided were also the first sacrifices of blood when He killed the animals for their skins. He provided blood sacrifices as atonement for sin and as a type of the blood of Christ that paid for the sin of world. Hebrews 9:22 says, "...without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin." Romans 5:8 reveals that God gave Jesus Christ as the final sacrifice for sin because He loves the people He created and wanted to clothe each with the garment of salvation.
Verses 22-24 reveal how God loved Adam and Eve by taking away the privilege of access to the Garden of Eden. He did not want people to live forever in a sinful state. God loves people today by taking away privileges so they will not be permanently ruined by sin.
Let's remember each day as we interact with all different people that we have the same first parents, we are one race. All have sinned and racism is a manifestation of sin. All humans have equal value in God's sight. Let's remember how much God loves us. Even while we were sinful He made a way for us to escape from sin. He sacrificed His own son to provide a way for us to be delivered from the penalty and power and ultimately the presence of sin. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." Let each of us believe in Jesus and live free from the penalty and power of sin now and when Jesus comes again, free from the presence of sin. Let's also remember when we love a privilege that God is caring for us. He desires to help us not sin forever. He is willing to remove time enclosed privileges to help us experience timeless abundant life
