“More bad news for Labor Day” read the headline in WND.com 1 September 2013. Those who have lost hope of employment are at historic highs. 63.5% of men are not in the labor force – lowest since 1948.
88% of the jobs created since 2008 are part-time. There is not a lot of economic security here, nor a lot of job satisfaction, nor financial peace that comes with the steady income of a full-time job with benefits.
Jesus announces the “good news” job picture for those in the Kingdom of God. Rather than not enough jobs and many part-time jobs with no benefits, Jesus offers full-time employment to as many that desire to work and need to work. Read the following Scripture.
Luke 10:2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore
pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Romans 10:9 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:13 For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone
preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the
feet of those who preach the good news!"
There is a shortage of laborers. If you have repented of your sin, confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved and qualified for work in the Kingdom of God. God has work for you and has equipped you to do it.
