Matthew 11:1 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee. 2 When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, "Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?" 4 Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. 6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."
Jesus was given an assignment to go to the house of Israel (Matthew 15:24). He did not have the time to go to other people. He obeyed the Lord (John 14:31) and all benefited. He didn't try to do more or less. He knew His Father had Him doing the right thing at the right time to accomplish reaching the world for Christ. We need to determine, by meeting with the Lord, who the Lord wants us to reach and make sure we reach them.
Jesus validated that He was who John was "preparing the way for" by His fulfillment of the scriptures.
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (physical and mental pain), yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners (blind people, 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn (see Luke 4:17-19)
We can validate we are sent by God by living according to His will by the power of His Spirit. We live according to His will by faith in the Son of God (Galatians 2:20)
As we take the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people in our sphere of influence (our assigned people) by word and deed, it can be said of the people we go to, "Blessed is the one not offended by the Jesus we bring to them." People who receive the gospel are blessed. People who don't receive the message are offended that we think they need it.
Be like Jesus and keep focused on what God has assigned you. Validate you are sent by God by living according God's will by faith in the Son of God
